Family Addition

Hey guys, meet my new kitty! Her names Binx...I know thats kind of a dudes name but I think it suits her regardless. My dog Alfie passed away a couple of weeks ago which is the reason why I haven't updated in ages...I haven't even checked anyones blog! I've been too upset to think about dressing nicely or even put make up on. It's been seriously lonely not having a dog around anymore...I'm used to having this little ball of fluff follow me around everywhere. He would sit patiently outside the bathroom door whilst I showered, wake me up by pulling at my covers and always greeted me at the front door. I will get another dog one day but it would of been too soon and would feel like replacing him so I adopted Binx. I've never had a kitten before...i've had cats from animal shelters or the rspca but they've always been pretty old to begin with so this is the first time having a kitten....and they're bloody hard work! So any advice to make her stop biting my hands down to the bone and tearing all my worldly possessions to shreads let me know!
Alfie

Right, I'm gunna make myself a cuppa and look through what I can only imagine as a neverending list of blog updates! :)

  3. awww I really feel for you, animals really find their way into our hearts and it is horrible when something happens to them. I'm sore he lived an incredibly happy life though, and that this kitty will be super happy with you too!

when it's being bad, you can use one of those water spritzers for plants, doesn't hurt them but lets them know it's not okey to ruin your curtains :D and when they're young they always want to play, just push it away when it is hurting you! they need to learn their boundaries.

btw your hair looks amaaaazing, I hope my tribute cheered you up a bit, and I'm using a canon 450D with the kitlens! bought one secondhand for my bday :) so happy with it!

  9. Oh Naomi, I am so very sorry to hear about Alfie. My heart sank when I read he had passed away. I have never lost a pet (except for a bird, fish and hamster) so I can't imagine how much it hurts to lose a huge member of your family. I'm hoping the wonderful memories you have of Alfie help ease your sadness. I am sending you a huge virtual hug right now.

Binx is adorable! I'm sorry I don't have any advice for you on how to stop her from biting because my cat has done it all her life! You can try pushing her tongue down with your finger in her mouth or you can spray her with water when she bites. Those didn't work for my crazy cat but they might with yours! Good luck!

  10. I'm so sorry to hear about your dog, it's so hard losing a beloved companion.

Kittens are definitely a lot of work! They're little ball of terror for a while hah. All you can do is try to tire the little girl out as often as possible. Play, play, play! The perfect hand-safe toy, is anything dangled from a string tied to a stick. Fun for kitty, and your hands stay nice and far from all those crazy kitten claws.
